What does the library’s HathiTrust membership give me access to?

As HathiTrust members, UofT faculty, students, and staff have access to a digital archive of 3 million+ items from research libraries around the world. The U of T community has access to read and download in full-text:

  • Open access or Creative Commons-licensed work
  • U.S. works published prior to 1923
  • Canadian or Australian work published prior to 1898
  • Works published in the rest of the world prior to 1878

The repository includes a large collection of US government documents and a growing collection of Canadian government documents. New material is added every day.  The library will include records for HathiTrust material in the catalogue, but users can also access the full corpus at https://www.hathitrust.org/.

To download books and create collections, login to the HathiTrust site with your utorid and password.
