The TCard webpage has detailed information about how TCards, activations and getting email accounts are being handled during the closure due to COVID-19.

The Help Desk can assist with lost SAKs, or issues with your UTORid and password with regards to any TCard questions. Please visit the TCard website for other information.

We have received reports of a couple of new phishing emails:

  • a message that says old versions of "our Mailbox" will be closing and to click on a link to update your account
  • a message that is prompting people to migrate to 2020 Microsoft Outlook Web portal

Do not click on links in these messages. Do not provide information or follow links sent to you in emails, especially when they warn you of losing access to an account if you fail to do so. This is almost always a ploy from a malicious sender to get personal information or login credentials. 

UofT in general and University of Toronto libraries in particular will not send links asking you to log into a site.  You should always navigate to services using web addresses you know rather than ones provided in an email.

Now that a large number of University members access on-campus desktops via remote viewing tools, thought should be given to scenarios where a recovery from a power outage is required.
Construction and building maintenance can result in scheduled and unscheduled disruptions to power.

At a minimum, steps should be taken to configure essential systems to power on automatically and avoid the need for on-site visits. See our article about configuring Dell computers to restart after a power outage for more details.
