Libraries to survey faculty and students about their research needs and preferences

Beginning on March 7 and continuing for four weeks, the University of Toronto Libraries will field their triennial survey of faculty, undergraduate, and graduate and professional students. Using new survey instruments developed in collaboration with Ithaka S+R, the Libraries hope to learn about the impact of digital technologies on the research, teaching and publishing activities of faculty and the research and learning needs of students. Results of this survey will inform the development of the Libraries’ new strategic plan, identify potential improvements to existing library services and resources, and support the development of new initiatives.

Survey invitations will be sent by email to a random sampling of students on all three campuses and to all active faculty. Responses will be collected anonymously and reported in aggregate. The survey can be completed in multiple sessions, using each respondent’s individualized link. All faculty and students who receive a survey invitation are encouraged to participate!
