II. MEMBERSHIP

Chair, Circulation Services Committee
Chair, Reference Services Committee
Chair, Subcommittee (as specified in III.2.)

Members other than ex-officio shall be appointed by the Steering Committee for a period of two years with the possibility of reappointment.

III. TERMS OF REFERENCE

  1. To develop and recommend plans and priorities for the library's electronic information service activities. Within this framework to ensure that the technical expertise is developed and maximized in each Library department/section and that strong communication links between Information Technology Services and the departments/sections are maintained.

  2. To establish a subcommittee which will develop and recommend library policy for the acquiring, storing, preserving and providing access to electronic information resources. (This subcommittee will supersede the Electronic Information Selection Committee.)

  3. To develop and recommend a policy proposal for acquiring funds for replacement, upgrading and maintenance of existing equipment which would assist in the provision of the most effective technological developments in library service. Internal as well as external sources should be considered.

  4. To co-opt other resource personnel as appropriate.

  5. To report to the Library Council in January, May, September and as appropriate.
