Resource Sharing Services Committee Annual Report 1999

February 12 1999

Chair, Susan Stone

During the past year the Resource Sharing Services Committee continued to meet regularly to discuss issues related to Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery services.

The Committee had many discussions on bibliographic access to our full text journals and other electronic resources. Carla Hagstrom (ITS) attended two meetings to give us progress reports.

The subgroup investigating the campus delivery service expanded its membership to include a wider range of St. George campus libraries. The group conducted several time trial studies. Alfred Cheng will attend our February meeting to discuss the delivery service.

The Committee discussed the implementation of the new Cancopy agreement and tariff schedule for profit making organizations and coordinated a comprehensive Cancopy information campaign for all U of T libraries.

Information on the 98/99 pricing structure for ILL/DD services in the Central Library was distributed to the Committee.

Peter Clinton presented "The Road to TAOS" in September and talked about the proposed transition teams which will be of specific interest to the Committee: the Resource Sharing team and the Email team.

The Committee co-sponsored the demos of Ameritech's "Resource Sharing System" and "Relais" ILL systems with Jane Clark and Helen Michael respectively.

The Committee continues to operate as a vehicle to exchange information on policies, procedures, technological changes and to encourage co-ordination of services provided across the system.
