During the past year the Resource Sharing Services Committee continued to
meet regularly to discuss issues related to Interlibrary Loan and Document
The Committee had many discussions on bibliographic access to our full text
journals and other electronic resources. Carla Hagstrom (ITS) attended two
meetings to give us progress reports.
The subgroup investigating the campus delivery service expanded its
membership to include a wider range of St. George campus libraries. The
group conducted several time trial studies. Alfred Cheng will attend our
February meeting to discuss the delivery service.
The Committee discussed the implementation of the new Cancopy agreement and
tariff schedule for profit making organizations and coordinated a
comprehensive Cancopy information campaign for all U of T libraries.
Information on the 98/99 pricing structure for ILL/DD services in the
Central Library was distributed to the Committee.
Peter Clinton presented "The Road to TAOS" in September and talked about
the proposed transition teams which will be of specific interest to the
Committee: the Resource Sharing team and the Email team.
The Committee co-sponsored the demos of Ameritech's "Resource Sharing
System" and "Relais" ILL systems with Jane Clark and Helen Michael
The Committee continues to operate as a vehicle to exchange information on
policies, procedures, technological changes and to encourage co-ordination
of services provided across the system.
