ANNUAL REPORT TO LIBRARY COUNCIL

December 11, 1997

The Standing Committee on Signage met once in 1997.

On 4 December the committee met to review the year's activities, plan for the next year, and review our terms of reference.

Gayle Garlock reviewed the ongoing activities and procedures relating to signage within Development & Public Relations. The activities relating to the signage for phase one of the Information Commons was also reviewed. Daina Kuszelowski gave a progress report on signage for the Gerstein Science Information Centre.

In planning for the next year it was agreed that Gayle Garlock would contact Engineering, Earth Science, Pharmacy and OISE to see how their needs are being met. A floor by floor review of the Robarts will be initiated.

The committee reviewed the terms of reference. Gayle Garlock will raise the issues discussed with the Chair of the Subcommittee on Committees. Within this context Albert Masters conducted an overall review of the workings of the committee, and the conclusion was that the committee was performing a useful function.

The committee acclaimed Gayle Garlock as chair.
