Request scanned journal articles (Scan & Deliver Service)

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Scan & Deliver Service is suspended until further notice. Last day to make a request: April 20.

Users may request scanned copies of articles from print journals held by the following libraries:

  • Robarts Library
  • Gerstein Science & Information Centre
  • OISE Library
  • UTM Library
  • UTSC Library
  • Architecture Library
  • Dentistry Library
  • Earth Sciences Library
  • East Asian Library
  • Math Library
  • Music Library
  • Downsview

The service will expand to other libraries over time.


Current University of Toronto students, faculty, and staff are able to place requests.

Articles from print journals held at libraries listed above are eligible for scanning.

Book chapters are not included in this service.

Scanning is only possible when copyright permits. 

Place a request

Login into LibrarySearch, and submit a request through the GET IT link in the individual catalogue record for the JOURNAL in question.

This is the same process by which books are requested through the Curbside Pickup Service.

Please provide the applicable item details, including volume, issue and page numbers, then submit your request.

Links to scanned articles will be delivered to users via email.

Problems: If you have experienced problems, e.g., not being able to request an article because the message says that the article is available online via HathiTrust, first make sure you have logged into HathiTrust (yellow LOGIN button, upper right) to check for the online article.
