Robarts Library Visitor Research Access

While the Robarts Library primarily supports members of the University of Toronto community, we are committed to making our world-class print collections available for wider use. Library memberships are available for purchase, whether you are alumni, a graduate student, faculty, or staff from another Canadian university, or a member of the public.

Many items in the University of Toronto Library collections are also available through interlibrary loan through your home institution or public library.

  • Scan the QR code or complete the online form to request visitor research access to the Robarts Library print collections.
  • Provide a brief statement clearly outlining the purpose of your visit so that we can understand your request (maximum 200 words).

We will review requests Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. You will receive a reply within 2 business days advising of your request's status. Check Robarts Library hours before visiting.

If your request has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email / visitor pass. You will need to present this pass along with valid government issued photo ID to front desk staff at the Robarts Library (130 St. George St.). A maximum of 3 one-day passes will be issued per visitor per month.

The University of Toronto's guest wifi and printing and photocopying are available; however, visitors do not have access to desktop computers, library e-resources, or borrowing privileges. If you are interested in these resources, library memberships are available for purchase.
