About the library

The John P. Robarts Research Library contains the largest single collection of the University of Toronto Libraries. The primary focus of the collection is in the social sciences and humanities. Many departments and libraries are physically housed within the 14-storey complex.

How to access

Extended hours

During the fall and winter terms, floors 1-3 are open to current U of T students with a valid TCard.

Book stacks

Access Robarts Library's book stacks with a valid TCard, U of T library card, a U of T alumni card, a stack access card, or a short-tem visitor's stack pass.  

We can retrieve items from the stacks for you to use in the library if you don’t have stacks access.


Materials housed in storage can be requested through the library catalogue.
