Sometimes our smartphones, devices, social media, and endless scrolling can get in the way of experiencing life without a lot of distractions and making connections with people in our lives.

The Engineering & Computer Science Library challenges you to put down your device(s) and live life in the moment for 24 consecutive hours!

Join us for a kick-off meeting to start this challenge! In the meeting we will talk about some of the benefits of a digital detox, tips on how you can stay on track and the rules for the contest.

After attending a kick-off meeting, for every 24-hour continuous block of time participants stay off their device(s) (for non-necessary purposes) they can enter a ballot into a draw (up to five ballots per student) for a $40 CAD coffee gift card.

This kick-off meeting is in-person in the classroom at the Engineering & Computer Science Library (10 King’s College Road, Sandford Fleming Building, second floor, Room 2402). Information for an accessible entrance to the library can be found here.
