This session will occur online and is facilitated by the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Makerspace.

This hands-on session will introduce you to the basics of Arduino using a virtual kit. At the end of the workshop, you will have a general understanding of circuitry and how to create a simple circuit using Arduino. Note: we will be building Arduino circuits using Tinkercad - sign up for a free account.

How do you know if you have a winning product/service concept? This workshop will introduce you to market research methods, techniques, and tools that are relevant in a startup environment and help you to gather relevant information that could impact your innovation. This hands-on workshop will focus on primary research as the key to uncovering customer insights and unmet needs.

You will: 


  • Learn fundamentals of market research

  • Apply appropriate research methods for your startup
  • Understand common market research methods such as customer interviews and surveys
  • Avoid common pitfalls during the market research process
  • Conduct primary research ethically and be respectful of participants’ privacy

Join us for part one of the Indigenous Book Club where we will learn about various books, podcasts, & other media by Indigenous peoples of Canada. The event will conclude with a sharing circle where participants will select 3 items to read or listen to by June 21st, 2022.

The Book Club goals are to foster a space of collaboration, sharing, inquiry, and respect amongst faculty, staff, and students through the discovery and awareness of Indigenous authors and themes. Participants will learn about Indigenous themes and engage in conversation on different Indigenous perspectives that helps with addressing obligations, responsibilities, solidarity, and supporting resistance of Indigenous people of Canada.

This session introduces you to 3D design using Tinkercad, a free design platform that is great for beginners. At the end of the workshop, you will have created a basic object that is ready to be 3D printed.
