Microform

Robarts Library houses a vast microform (microfilm, microfiche, microtext) collection which includes nearly 3-million items, ranging from historical documents to contemporary newspapers, both domestic and international.

To request digitization of an except from the Robarts Library microform collection, submit a Scan and Deliver request in LibrarySearch. To view this material in it's original format on one of our digital microform readers, email media.commons@utoronto.ca to arrange a viewing.

The Petro Jacyk Resource Centre (Robarts Library, 3rd floor) has produced several finding aids for Central and Eastern European collections, available on their website.

The microform collection also includes University of Toronto Masters and PhD dissertations on microfiche. Digital copies may be available online through TSpace, the University of Toronto Libraries institutional repository. See this guide for further assistance finding theses. 

Viewing Facilities

A number of digital microform readers/scanners are available for drop-in use anytime. If intending to view material from our collection, email media.commons@utoronto.ca to arrange for retrieval. 

Digital scans may be made to a USB storage device free of charge, while printed copies cost $0.15 per page and require the use of a TCard or guest print/copy card
